Photos by Eli Latimerlo.

Photography is a family tradition for me. Both my grandfather and older brother were professional photographers, and I am grateful for all that they taught me.

I’ve been a photographer since my sophomore year in high school, where I served as the staff photographer for the yearbook committee. In college, I majored in communications with an emphasis in photo-journalism and worked as a freelance photojournalist for a number of years. After graduation, I spent the next fifteen years working in the computer software and social sector industries with the camera as a constant companion during my engagements with the tech sector, the mentally ill, and the homeless, as well as on my travels through three different continents.

I returned to photography, most recently, to document my daughter’s growth as a competitive gymnast. Since then, I have embraced portraiture, candid event photography, church and ritual celebration keepsakes, and athletic event snapshots.

The thrust of my photography is the telling of a story. My images serve to capture the many complex facets of life, not just the peaks and valleys, but the everyday journey.
